Obituary of Helen Lynn

Helen C. "Mickey" Lynn, 94, of State College, PA, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Fairways at Brookline Village, State College, PA. Born on April 30, 1919, in Sunbury, PA, she is a daughter of the late Homer and Harriet (Kessler) Miller. On January 17, 1942, she married Joseph C. Lynn in Frederick, MD, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2004. She was 1936 graduate of Sunbury High School. She retired from the PSU Bookstore as an accounting clerk/secretary in 1977. Mickey was a season ticket holder to Penn State football games since 1960; accomplished at many kinds of needlework; enjoyed gardening; loved games and puzzles, especially card games, attending Joe's band concerts, spending time at their camp along Penns Creek in New Berlin, and their years in Bonita Springs, FL. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the most joy. She was a member of Pine Hall Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Williams (Michael) and 5 grandchildren; Karen Starinchak (Bob), Robin Heim (Ben) of Port Matilda, Deron Williams (Amy) of State College, Karyn (Lynn) Shepler (Dave) of Fort Wayne, IN, Bob Lynn of Muncie, IN, and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Fred Lynn, in 2011, sisters Mary Hartt and Emma Treaster, and a brother, James Miller. Burial will be held at Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, PA, on Monday with Pastor Susan Williamson of Pine Hall Lutheran Church officiating.
