Obituary of Kenneth Henney

Kenneth R. Henney, 78, of Boalsburg died September 22, 2013, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born February 9, 1935, in Alexandria, Pa, he was the son of the late George V. and Agnes Gill Henney. On June 6, 1954 he married Donna E. Eichelberger, who survives. He is also survived by three children, Robin D. Spicer and her husband, R. Edward II, of Spring Mills, Jacqueline K. Jacobs of State College, K. Todd Henney and his partner, Tina Almashie, of Bellefonte; two brothers, Glenn Henney and wife, Florence (Snoozer), of Huntingdon, Robert Henney and his partner, Ann, of Huntingdon, two sisters; Eileen Brown of Spruce Creek, Shirley Metz and her husband, James, of Alexandria, a sister-in-law, Janet Henney, of Camp Hill, three grandchildren; R. Edward Spicer III, Jakob D. Spicer and his wife, Jodi, Hunter Henney and one great grandchild, Katherine Spicer. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Jennifer Rose Henney, and several brothers and sisters. He was a 1953 graduate of Juniata Valley High School. He retired from Bell Telephone of Pa after thirty five years as an Installer. Ken was a life member of the BPOE #1600 of State College. For a term Ken was President of the Seven Mountain Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. One of the many things the Pioneers sponsored was the handicapped jamboree in Indian Town Gap, Pa. He enjoyed playing softball and was a fast pitch pitcher. He also coached peewee little league baseball. Memorial service will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
