Obituary of Blanche Lovell

Blanche Wakefield Lovell, age 90, of State College died Oct 21, 2013 at The Fairways, Brookline Village. Born June 9, 1923 in Huntingdon PA, she was the eldest of four daughters to Jesse H. Wakefield and Leah R. Wakefield. On June 23, 1944, she married Harold L. Lovell, who died April 23, 2005. They celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage. The Lovells enjoyed traveling the world, couples bowling league, golf at Penn State and participated in several bridge card groups. They were avid Nittany Lion fans and supported Penn State athletics. They were long time members of Grace Lutheran Church in State College. Blanche enjoyed knitting sweaters and afghans for her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Diann L Walker of Port Matilda, a son, Timothy W Lovell and his wife Stephanie of Boalsburg. Blanche is also survived by five grandsons: Richard Ford lV (Jena) Pittsburgh PA, Gregory Ford (Audrey) Lakewood CO, Christopher Ford (TJ) Yelm WA, Andrew Lovell, Burlington VT and Colin Lovell, Chicago IL. Five great grandchildren include: Ashley, Brandon, Caley, Brenna and Holden Ford. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookline Village for many years of special care and love for Blanche. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Garner St. State College, PA. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
