Obituary of Ronald Witter

Ronald G. Witter 69 of State College, born April 8, 1941 in Hebron, Nebraska, died from injuries sustained in a car accident on March 20. Ron married his beloved wife, Elaine Janssen, on August 7, 1960 in Allen, Nebraska. They celebrated fifty years of "wedded bliss" in August of 2010. They were blessed with two sons, Jeff and Craig. Jeff and his wife Jamie live in Birmingham, AL and Craig and his wife Sheri live in State College. They have five wonderful grandchildren: Mitchell Witter, LCPL USMC of Okinawa, Japan, Ellie Witter of Birmingham and Fletcher, Tanner, and Casey Witter of State College. Ron is also survived by his siblings Shary Hallgren of Osage City, KS, Kathy Brown of Castle Rock, CO, and Michael Witter of Denver, CO. Ron served honorably for twenty three years in the U.S. Air Force as a signals analyst in the Security Service, and as an Intelligence Officer in the Strategic Air Command. Ron then worked in State College as a Project Manager with HRB Singer for eleven years. In 1992, he started his own business, R.G. Witter Construction. Ron leaves a legacy of love to all who have known him. Live well, love much, and laugh often were words that he lived by. His cabin in the woods was Heaven on earth to him and Elaine. He will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 Atherton Street, State College, PA on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Deacon Joe DeLauter officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service. In remembrance of Ron, those that wish may make contributions to Centre County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 824, State College, PA 16804 Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
