Born August 24, 1932, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Cowder and Irma (Huyck) Cowder of Huntingdon. She was first united in marriage on August 18, 1955, with Warren K. Stewart (surviving) of State College, then, on June 15, 1987, with Donald W. Miller, of Huntingdon, who precedes her in death. Mrs. Miller is survived by three of her own children, Elaine Lang, of State College; Sondra Pope, of Wilmington, NC; Craig Stewart, of Wilmington, DE; and four children of her second husband; Steve Miller; Dawn (Miller) Dupuis; Becky (Miller) McChesney; Daniel Miller; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her older brother, Cecil "Bud" V. Cowder, of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and was preceded in death by her dear sisters, Carolyn English and Margaret "Peggy" Walker, both of Huntingdon, with whom she is now lovingly and joyfully reunited, the Cowder girls. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Huntingdon High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War in 1951. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cross country skiing, jazz, jitterbug and "peppy" music, and puzzles. She was also an avid reader. A memorial will be held by the family privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a residents fund in her memory at Greenhills Village (Retirement and Senior Living Residence), 301 Farmstead Lane, State College, PA, 16803 (814-234-9898), where, in her final stages, she was lovingly cared for, or the Alzheimer's Association online at www.alz.org or Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College. Online condolences and signing of the guest book may be entered at www.kochfuneralhome.com
