Obituary of Harry D. Lykens

Harry Damian Lykens, 39, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on June 14, 2016 at his home. Harry was born in State College, to Harry H. Lykens III and the late Josephine Sirianni Lykens on February 3, 1977. He married Sarah Shaner on November 18, 2011, who survives at home. He is survived by his daughter, Elle J. Lykens and his stepson, Owen T. Mayville, of Boca Raton, his father, Harry H. Lykens III, of State College, two sisters, Nicole E. McDowell and her husband, Jeffrey, of Red Lion, PA, Emily M. Lykens, of State College, one brother, Michael F. Lykens, of State College, and three nephews, Tyee, Connor and Aidan McDowell of Red Lion. He also leaves behind several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Along with his mother, he was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank A. and Eileen E. Sirianni and his paternal grandparents, Dr. Harry D. and Marjorie A. Lykens, and his aunt, Mary Gurskey. Harry was a 1995 graduate of State College Area High School. He attended the Pennsylvania State University, and Point Park College in Pittsburgh. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golf and played often. In his life, Harry always truly lived it. Visitation will be 4-6 pm on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Our Lady Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Father Dadey officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Scholarship and Endowment Fund, Attn: Jeff Krempler, 701 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
