Obituary of Frances Mae Campbell

Frances Slack Campbell, 90, of Pennsylvania Furnace, passed away peacefully at her home on November 16, 2023.

Fran was born on June 13, 1933 to John S. Slack and Marian Meyer Slack in Centre County. Fran graduated from Centre Hall-Potter High School in 1951. After graduation Fran worked as a cashier at Weis Market in State College, PA.

Fran married Charles Willard Campbell September 24, 1955, going on to have three children, Lorrie, John and Clay. Fran supported Willard's dairy farming efforts over the years, including helping with the milking in the early years.

Fran enjoyed sewing and crafting while caring for their home. She was a member of Fairbrook United Methodist Church where she was active in many groups. Fran and Willard were loyal members of the Couples Club.

Fran was predeceased by her husband Willard, parents, siblings John Slack, Susie Slack Jacobi and Virginia Slack Rogers. Fran is survived by siblings Robert Slack, Carol Slack Colestock and Judy Slack Colbenson, children Lorrie Curley (Terry), John (Sue) and Clay (Tanya). She is also survived by grandchildren Will Curley (Priscilla), Aaron Curley (Alexandra), Hannah Curley, Morgan Inhoof (Casey), Madison Campbell and Chloe Hampton, great grandchildren Campbell Curley, Kieran Curley, Eila Curley and Luke Inhoof.

A private family visitation will be held Monday, November 20 from Noon to 1pm. The public viewing will be held Monday, November 20 from 1 to 2pm and followed by the funeral service at 2:00 at Koch Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to State College Area Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1235, State College, PA 16804.
