Obituary of Helen D. Weaver

Helen D. Weaver, 91, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Centre Care.

Born October 26, 1932, in Port Matilda, she was the daughter of the late George and Rachel Eaves Laird. On August 22, 1959 she married Donald R. Weaver, who preceded her in death on August 28, 2015.

She is survived by one son, Keith Weaver of Milesburg; one grandson, Levi Miller and his partner, Melinda Wayne; three great-grandchildren, Baline and Chase Miller and McKenna Gower. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by ten siblings, Isabel Walker, Albert "Buck" Laird, Joseph Laird, Lewis Laird, Catherine "Katie" Albright, Hazel Robison, Frances Bucior, Jack Laird, Gladys Laird and Florence "Flossie" Houtz.

Helen attended State College Area School District.

She retired after 60 years as a cashier for Weis Markets.

Helen was a member of the Black Oak United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend Joanne Torma officiating.

Burial will be in Williams Cemetery, Julain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Black Oak United Methodist Church, 109 Creekside Lane, Port Matilda, PA 16870.
