As we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, our theme this month is “Freedom.” Just as our country experienced a struggle before achieving its freedom, the same can be true for us. For example, we go through our own struggles with grief, before we find its freedom and other gifts. We are like butterflies. Just as the Elton John song, “Someone Saved My Life Tonight says, “And butterflies are free to fly.” But before those butterflies were free, they experienced the struggle of breaking out of the chrysalis. Did you know that if you help in this process, the butterflies will die? We each have to go through our own unique struggles to find our freedom.
