Our theme this month is “Becoming the Butterfly.” We sometimes call grief one of the dark emotions. The darkness is obscure. Before a butterfly emerges from a chrysalis, it is in darkness. A lot goes on inside the chrysalis for the caterpillar to turn into a butterfly. A lot goes on in grief too, and some people find they turn into a “butterfly” as a result – they are changed. If the grief is from the death of a loved one, these individuals would rather have their loved ones back than become a butterfly, but there can be pieces of the metamorphosis for which they’re grateful.  This month we’ll talk about the metamorphosis that can occur.
