November 18 2021 - Children's Grief Awareness Day
Thursday, November 18, 2021
Today is Children’s Grief Awareness Day and we want to share some ideas about children's involvement in funeral and memorial services. In our experience, when children participate in this process, it helps them gain a better understanding of death, grief and the value of honoring a loved one's life. A few ways they can take part are by sharing memories with others, finding pictures for the tribute video, writing or drawing something for the casket, greeting others at the service and choosing and/or reading poems or performing pieces of music.
