Obituary of Charles Leroy Mehalick

Charles Leroy “Butch” Mehalick, 68, of Boalsburg, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, at his home. Born November 20, 1947, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Diebler Mehalick. Butch is survived by two children, Richard Mehalick, Brian Mehalick both of State College; three sisters, Ann Hoffman and her husband, Bob, Nancy Weaver and her husband, John, Grace Mehalick, one brother, Edward Mehalick and his wife, Mel, four grandchildren, Chelsae, Christine, Peyton, and Riley; and great-grandchildren, Ben, Austin, Landon, Taylor, and Colin. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donny and David Mehalick. Butch graduated from State College High School in 1965. He was employed by Locus Incorporated, Boalsburg, for over 20 years, retiring as Facility Manager in 2010. Butch was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the State College High School Alumni Committee and was part of the Centre County Historical Society. He appreciated local history and received an award for his interest in locating historical sites. He also enjoyed playing softball. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be private.
