Obituary of Daniel Faria-Santos

Daniel Faria-Santos, 38, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, of Columbus, OH, died Friday, February 26, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA. Born February 3, 1978, in Foz Do Iguaçu, Brazil, he was the son of Odete Ribeiro and Claudio Faria-Santos. He is survived by his mother, Odete Ribeiro, her husband, Patrick Parker, and one sister, Eliza Faria-Santos, all of Columbus, OH; father, Claudio Faria-Santos, his partner, Susan Carlson, and two half-brothers, Kristopher Koble Faria-Santos and Maxwell Koble Faria-Santos, all of Richmond, VA. Daniel graduated from State College Area High School in 1996 and received a bachelor's degree in finance and international business from Penn State University in 2001. Daniel was a lifelong practitioner and instructor of Tang Soo Do martial arts and had achieved the level of 3rd degree black belt. He had an analytical mind and enjoyed playing any type of game, solving puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. Daniel was a natural business leader and enjoyed mentoring those whom he came into contact with in his personal life and work. Daniel was known by his many friends for his tender heart, giving nature, and as someone they could always count on. Daniel had a wide circle of friends and maintained deep lifelong friendships. In his spiritual life, Daniel was a believer and we know he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Daniel, was battling cancer himself and was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He felt strongly about their work as he did not want children to go through the same struggles he did. Two memorial services will be held in honor of Daniel: Columbus, OH – March 5th 3 pm.
