Obituary of John Patrick McCann

John Patrick "Pat" McCann, 63, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born April 2, 1952, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Patrick Hugh McCann and Mary Constance Plummer McCann, of CA. On March 15, 1975, in Franklin, he married his wife of 41 years, Christine Frank, who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by four children, Jeffrey McCann of Pleasant Gap, James McCann and his husband, Scott Leary, of Washington, DC, Teresa Nelson and her husband, Marty, of Glen Burnie, MD and Rachel Klinger and her husband, Chuck, of State College; three sisters, Mary Itle of Lancaster, Ann McCann and her husband, Art Faxas, and Genie Ruby and her husband, Pat, all of CA; six grandchildren, Laynie, Chloe, Deacon and Grant Klinger, Caleb and Bria Nelson; mother-in-law, Edith Frank. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Charles McCann, a brother and sister-in-law, John Henry and Debbie Seibel McCann, his father-in-law, Charles Frank, and brother-in-law, John Itle. He was a 1970 graduate of Central Cambria High School and attended Penn State University. Pat was the owner of McCann Wealth Strategies in State College. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 East Branch Road, State College, with the Reverend Edward Preston officiating. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family in Lamey Cemetery, Oil City. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
