Obituary of Betty Ellen Conn

Betty Conn passed away…. At the Jersey Shore Medical Center on May 5th, 2016 Born in Point Marion, PA to James Blaine Morris and Ritha Bertraux Morris in 1922, Betty was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, PA and State College, PA until moving to NJ in August, 2011. From age 18 to 26, Betty sang on national coast to coast radio out of KDKA in Pgh, PA. She attended Carnegie Mellon University and also sang live to raise money for war bonds in a period after WWII Betty met her loving husband Lowry L. Conn (married on Dec 25 th, 1946) and settled in Pgh, PA where they raised four children. Betty always enjoyed music, cooking and reading, but most of all, her lifelong love was being with and raising her family and loving her grandchildren. Betty is pre deceased by her husband, Lowry L. Conn (1992). She is survived by four children, Eileen Conn of Sedona, AZ, son Jim Conn and wife Janet of Leland, NC, daughter Betty Conn of Houston, TX and son Rich Conn of Spring Lake, NJ. Also survived by two grandchildren, Erin (Conn) and husband Chris (Hunter) of Boulder, CO and Lauren (Conn) and her husband Graham (Hunter) of Nashville, Tenn. Also survived by three great grandchildren, Owen and Jack (to Erin and Chris Hunter) and Olivia Caroline (to Lauren and Graham Hunter). Betty is also survived by her sister, Eloise Gilliland of State College, PA and Eloise’s children, Sally and Gary. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
