Obituary of William Carroll Agnew

William Carroll "Pete" Agnew III, 88, formerly of Bethel Park, died Sunday, September 22, 2019, at The Oaks At Pleasant Gap. Born January 25, 1931, in Southern Pines, NC, he was the son of the late William Carroll Agnew II and Clarine Elizabeth Welch Agnew. On June 21, 1958 he married Dorothy Devine, who survives. In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by five children, Lisa Reeder and her husband, Todd, of State College, William Agnew IV of Brunswick, GA, Brian Agnew of Las Vegas, NV, Decia Stenzel and her husband, Tyrone, of Prior Lake, MN, and Douglas Agnew and his wife, Kim, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; two grandchildren, Shelby J. Rinehimer and her husband, Zachary, and Carly N. Reeder; and three great-grandchildren, Lily, Gunnar and Lincoln Rinehimer . Pete was a graduate of Brentwood High School and of the University of Pittsburgh. For thirty years he was the Vice President of Industrial Appraisal Company. Pete also served as a Sergeant in the Army, and received the National Defense Service Medal. Pete was also a member of Bethel Park Elks Club and VFW. Burial will be at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Medi Home Hospice, 341 N Science Rd Suite 207, State College PA 16803 or Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries, 998 Logan Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
