Obituary of Harry William Schollenberger

Harry William Schollenberger, 93, of State College, died Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Village At Penn State Atrium.

Born January 9, 1928, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry and the late Margaret Maurer Schollenberger. He grew up in Rockledge PA and Runnymede NJ. On August 27, 1949, he married Helene (Bunny) Schaab, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by five daughters, Carol Neufer and her husband Eric of Phoenix, AZ, Kathy Gimbel of Huntingdon Valley, Karen Schollenberger of Center Valley, Kim Baird and her husband Jim of Pittsburgh, and Susan Pettengill and her husband John of Port Matilda; eight grandchildren, and two great grandsons. In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by his brother.

Harry spent his life working in the fuel oil industry for several different companies, the most recent being Nittany Oil, now Martin Oil. He retired in 1993.

He was a member of Pine Hall Lutheran Church.

Harry was a Mason, a member of Kiwanis, the Elks Lodge, the PSU Alumni Association, and other organizations related to the petroleum industry. Harry and Bunny were avid Penn State fans. They enjoyed travel, including many winters in Arizona.

Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10 to 11 am at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.

A private service will follow. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
