Obituary of Jean M. Frederiksen

Jean M. Frederiksen, 95, of State College died on March 5, 2022. She was the daughter of George and Ellen Wallden and the sister of Sylvia Eggers, all of whom predeceased her. She was born in Chicago IL on July 3, 1926, and it was there that she met her husband Lester when he was serving in the US Navy during World War II. Jean and Les were married for 64 years. They lived in numerous states before their final move to The Village at Penn State, where they lived together until his death in 2013. Jean was a member of State College Presbyterian Church.

Left to mourn Jean's passing are daughters Janet Wilson (Richard) of River Falls WI, Louise Frederiksen (James Muchow) of Skokie IL, and Kate Mount (Daniel) of State College PA. She was preceded in death by daughter Laura Frederiksen (William Kelmer). Other survivors include grandchildren Kerith Lijewski (Joseph), Paul Wilson, Gretchen Kelmer (Nathan Paul), Daniel Mount (Blair Weikel) and Joe Mount, as well as great grandchildren Cooper and Riley Lijewski and Wesley and Clayton Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews.

During her last years, Jean resided and was well cared for at The Atrium in State College and loved visits, phone calls, letters and pictures from family and friends. She spent many happy hours watching the birds out her window and coloring in her numerous books while enjoying her favorite television shows.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the State College Presbyterian Church, 132 W. Beaver Ave. State College. We welcome all family and friends.
