Obituary of Linda D. Bailey

Linda D. Bailey, 77, of State College, went to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 1, 2022, at home after a valiant struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She passed away surrounded by family.

Linda was born in Sunbury, PA on January 12, 1945. On December 9, 1961 she joined Robert Bailey in a marriage which lovingly continued for more than 60 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Jeffrey K. Bailey and his wife, Keri of Boalsburg, and Tiffany A. Bailey of State College; three siblings, Robert Dobson and his wife Phyllis of Littleton, CO, Diana Mebane and her husband Lamont of Bluffton, SC, and James Dobson of State College; six grandchildren, Heather and Carli Bailey, Taylor Rittenhouse Volta and her husband Joth, Justin Ondik and his wife Jackie, Terran Swancer and her husband Jared, and Makenna Bailey; and seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Rowan, and Chase Ondik, Sawyer, Tucker, and Isabella Swancer, and Beckham Volta. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Moyer Dobson, her daughter, Tina Rittenhouse, and two grandchildren, Joshua Bailey and Travis Rittenhouse.

Linda worked in retail and restaurants in the early years of their marriage. After moving to State College in the late 1960s, she started her own small business - a ceramic shop that she proudly operated into the 1990s - where she poured molds, sold greenware and ceramic supplies, taught classes, painted eyes for people, and most importantly where she created lifelong friends and memories.

She loved family gatherings, cooking casseroles, tea parties with her grandchildren, holding and talking to babies, teaching children to love Jesus, traveling to Cape May and Charleston, being the chauffeur, decorating in Victorian style, and bargain shopping. She is remembered for her unconditional love, compassion, selflessness, and her generosity and kindness to all.

Services will be private at her request and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Spring Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to ALS Foundation WWW.ALSPADONATE.ORG or International Federation of Christians and Jews WWW.IFCJ.ORG (On Wings of Eagles) "In honor of Linda Bailey".

Linda's favorite verses:

"I will bless those who bless [Israel]." Genesis 12:3

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

From her husband Bob:

"Her children stand and bless her, so does her husband. He praises her with these words. There are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all." Proverbs 31:28-29
