Obituary of Naomi Witherite

Naomi Jean Witherite, 68, of Julian, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born February 24, 1943 in Granville Township, she was the daughter of the Wesley Henry and Millie Maude Hartley Collins. She married Harry E. Witherite on June 14, 1962 who survives. He is survived by two children, Denise Witherite and family friend, Marcia Fulton, of Centre Hall, Harry E. Witherite, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Warriors Mark, one sister, Helen Louise Shepard and her husband, Edward, of Ohio, three grandchildren, Kevin Witherite, Randy Witherite and his wife, Samantha, Christopher Witherite and one great grandchild, Kalina Witherite . She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, close friend and caregiver, Jen McDonald. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Esby, Pearl Sleifer, Doris Yoder and one brother, Harold Collins. Naomi was a graduate of State College Area High School. She enjoyed quality time with her family, country music, playing her guitar and accordion, playing board games, nascar races, bingo and watching her bird feeders especially humming birds. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Cowfer officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Boalsburg Fire Company at 113 West Pine Street, Boalsburg, PA 16827 or Port Matilda EMS at 402 South High Street, Port Matilda, PA 16870.
