Obituary of Carol Jean Bernlohr

Carol Jean (Smiley) Bernlohr, 90, of State College PA passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022.

She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Canton Ohio and graduated from Canton Lincoln High School (1950) and Capital University (1955) with a degree in business education. She taught business at many venues including Whitehall-Yearling High School, State College Area High School and South Hills Business School. An avid golfer, she also enjoyed bridge, gardening, buying and selling antiques and especially attending games played by her sons and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father John, mother Margaret and brother Richard. Survived by her loving husband Robert of 67 years, and sons David (Suzanne), Timothy (Lizanne), Mark (Kimberly) and James (Kathleen). Grandmother to Andrew (Mariann), Daniel (Melinda), Melissa (Brent), Elise (Michael), Kelly (Matthew), Christian (Christine), Blake (Sarah), Kyle, William, Luke and Gordon. Great grandmother to Robert, Lewis, Jack, Briggs, Cooper, Blake, Ellie, Evangeline, Simon and Sawyer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 18 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton, State College at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Graysville Cemetery, Spruce Creek, PA immediately following.
