Obituary of Jan Allen Clouser

Jan Allen Clouser, 65, of State College, died Thursday, June 8, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 21st, 1958 to the late Clarence Eugene and surviving Audrey Clouser. On August 9th, 1980, he married the love of his life, Kim Clouser of State College who survives.

Also surviving are Jan's two siblings, Randy of State College, Brenda Harpster and her husband Kevin of State College. Jan's two children also survive, Allen Clouser and his girlfriend Jen of Bellefonte, Andrea McGregor and her husband Bruce of Bellefonte; two grandchildren who were Jan's whole world, Grayson and Lucy.

Jan grew up in State College helping his family on their farm in Pleasant Gap, and he had a love of racing motocross. He graduated from State College High School in 1976 and soon after began his love for the game of slow pitch softball. He played on numerous softball teams every year until 2020 and enjoyed every second of his time with, "the guys." The friendships that developed on the field were friendships he held dear to his heart for many years off the field. One of the greatest joys of his life, however, was when he became a "pap." He loved his grandkids and looked forward to every memory he could make with them.

Anyone who knew Jan knows the avid hunter and fisherman that he was. He lived for spending time in the woods and fly fishing in Montana. Landscape and animal photography became a newer passion, taking every opportunity to be outside. You couldn't catch him without his camera, ready to capture the perfect shot.

He worked for College Township for 35 dedicated years. He was a devoted public servant to the residents of College Township. The guys he worked with became his second family and his time there was truly enjoyable.

A Celebration of Life remembrance will be held on Sunday July 16th from 11:00 am-2:00 pm at the Lions Club in Pine Grove Mills.

Jan loved traveling around the country with his family, so in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The National Park Foundation at give.nationalparks.org.
