Obituary of Douglas Robert Barch

Douglas Robert Barch, 70, of State College, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Born April 22, 1953, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Dwight Richard and Margaret Delores Halleran Barch.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Marie Fantaske (Married June 11th, 1977); his son Alexander Douglas Barch; his brothers Donald Raymond Barch, Davis Roger Barch, Daniel Roy Barch; his 4 grandchildren, and 6 nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Eva Marie McDonald and his son, Garrett Anderson Barch.

Doug earned his BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1977, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Business School in 1984. After early consulting jobs at the Department of Energy and Arthur Andersen, he eventually found a career in Electronic Supply Chain Integration.

He was active in the local road cycling club, and enjoyed walking his dog, talking with his friends on the phone, and spending time with his nieces, nephews & grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m., on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend Jeff Thoms officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
