Obituary of Barbara Ruth Barbara

Barbara Ruth Barbara, 88, of State College, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at home, surrounded by family.

Born March 28, 1935, in Curwensville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Earl and Mabel Dale Pierson. On April 15, 1972 she married David Barbara.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Scott Barbara and his wife Joy of State College; three grandchildren, Janet, Judith, and Robert-Scott; and a great-granddaughter, June Elizabeth Nichols. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two siblings, Audrey Bellmore and Dale Pierson.

Barbara attended the Altoona Beauty School and worked as a beautician until she married David. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. She had many hobbies that she was passionate about including: baking, painting, jewelry making, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was empathetic, loving, supportive, friendly and charitable. She especially enjoyed crocheting items to donate to Project Linus and supporting David and the rest of the family as they participated in boating safety activities through the United States Power Squadron. No matter what anyone was involved in she always took an interest and showed her enthusiasm..

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA, 16801 with Father George Jakopac officiating.

Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery.
