Obituary of Benedict Alexander

Benedict W. Alexander, 86, of Pine Grove Mills, died peacefully on July 8, 2012 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte Benedict was born in Altoona on May 15, 1926. He was the son of the late William Talbot and Catherine Theresa (DeBarber) Alexander. His wife, Nancy (Potasky) Alexander, who he married on November 10, 1956, preceded him in death on January 23, 2009. Surviving is his daughter, Georgette A. Richie of Meherrin, VA and two grandsons, Phillip Michael Richie and Benedict Alexander Richie. In addition to his parents and wife, Benedict was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Walton. He was in the US Army during World War II. He worked as a designer in the Applied Research Lab at Penn State for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was an avid woodcarver. There will be no public services.
