Cicely Pointer Wheeler of State College died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was born May 1, 1917 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Frederick and Cicely Strange Pointer. She took a Special Course in Oral Hygiene at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1940 she married C. Herbert Wheeler. She loved raising their 3 daughters. She was Ronnie Robison's dental hygienist for 13 years (a fun job). She enjoyed volunteering in the emergency room at Centre Community Hospital and also for the Blood Mobile. She really liked jury duty. She is survived by 3 daughters and husbands, Pamela and Tom Edmunds of Washington, NJ, Janet and Jim Buch of Penfield, NY, and Betsy and Bob Somers of Clarks Summit; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2 p.m., at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Father Richard Wall officiating. Friends will be received after the service. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at 208 West Foster Avenue, State College, PA 16801. Arrangements are under the direction of the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA 16801.
