Obituary of Sharon Arnold

Sharon M. Arnold, 73, of Bellefonte, formerly of Turmansburg, N.Y., died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born July 26, 1939 in Ithaca, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Fred R. and Helen Osgood Hatt. On July 1, 1961 she married Herbert W. Arnold, who survives her and now resides in State College. She is also survived by two children, Kathleen M. McFeaters and her husband, George, of Avoca, N.Y.; William R. Arnold and his wife, Ellen, of Montour Falls, N.Y. and eight grandchildren. Sharon graduated from Union Springs Central School in Union Springs, N.Y. and attended the University Of Rochester School Of Nursing. She studied music (voice) at Penn State. She was a former Toddler Coordinator for Growing Together in State College and worked with the Child Development Council for six years. She was a child care provider for ten years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bellefonte and the State College Choral Society. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Gilbaugh officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to C.E.F. of Centre County at 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
