Obituary of Jennie Casciola

Jennie P. Casciola, 97, of State College, formerly of Bridgeville, PA died August 4, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born March 17, 1916, in Gladden, PA a daughter of the late Lawrence and Josephine Sloka. On April 27, 1940 she married Amil Casciola. After 60 years of marriage, Amil died on February 16, 2001. She is survived by her son, Glenn, his wife Nanette, and grandsons David and Michael Casciola, all of State College. Her family was blessed to have Grandma Jennie live with them for the last 17 years. She was very proud of her grandsons and they will always cherish time spent in her kitchen making pasta, gnocchi, ravioli, and eating her famous chocolate chip cookies. Jennie is also survived by two sister-in-laws, several nieces, and numerous great and great- great nieces and nephews. Jennie became a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College after many years as a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, Bridgeville. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013, at Holy Child Catholic Church, 212 Station Street, Bridgeville, PA with Father Dennis Yurochko officiating. Burial will be in St. Agatha Cemetery, Bridgeville. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA 16801.
