Obituary of Jeffrey Jennings

Jeffrey Michael Jennings, 45, of State College, formerly of West Homestead, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born April 2, 1968, in Homestead, he was the son of the late Michael V. Jennings and Joanne Hrosik Jennings, who survives in West Homestead. On May 30, 2003, he married Liz Holtzinger, who survives. He is also survived by beloved pets, Bella and Chuck. He is also survived by one sister, Sharon Jennings McCallister and her husband, Tim, of North Huntingdon. He was loved and adored by nieces Taylor, Morgan, Rebecca, and Riley McCallister. He was a 1986 graduate of Steel Valley High School. Jeff was active for more than twenty years in the bar industry in State College. He was an avid weightlifting enthusiast and history buff, particularly of the Civil War. He enjoyed cheering on his Steelers, Pens, and Buccos. Jeff also followed Penn State football and was considered a father figure by many former players of the 2009 team with whom he stayed in contact. Finally, he was always well-known as a champion for the underdog. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2013, at George Green Funeral Home, 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A visitation will also be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday , October 14, 2013, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home with Al Holtzinger officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Steel Valley School District, c/o Gridiron Booster Club, 3113 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 or The Penn State Powerlifting Club.
