Obituary of Janet Johnson

Janet V. Johnson, 85, of State College, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born December 27, 1927, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Dorothy Segner Zong. She married Richard Johnson who preceded her in death on December 7, 2006. She is survived by four children, Kathy A. Wolf and her husband, Ed, of Port Matilda, Linda C. Johnson of State College, Richard H. Johnson and his wife, Cathy, of Bossier City, LA. and Tammy L. Perkins and her husband, Bill, of Altoona; one brother, Donald Zong and his wife, Peggy, of Pigeon Forge, TN.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Tony Guenot in 2012. She was a 1945 graduate of Fairmount Avenue High School. Janet worked as a waitress at Woodrings and Mr. Donut. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Janet enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart and playing bingo with her husband. She loved spending time with her family, especially when they gathered together at the Waffle Shop. A memorial luncheon will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Pine Grove Mills Lions Club, 424 W. Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks Street, State College, Pa 16801.
