She initially worked in the field of Home Economics in State College, PA and later became office manager of the Metallurgy Department at the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State University. Mrs. Plummer married Clyde William Dickey in 1946 and had three daughters. She was a wonderful mother who raised three beautiful daughters in a warm and loving home. She was an avid gardener who loved the outdoors and the Pennsylvania countryside. She loved to travel with her husband Norman after her retirement and is proud to have visited all 50 states. She was very egalitarian and welcomed any and all to her lovely home. She was also a zealous Penn State and State College sports fan. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend to any who came her way. She was active in St. Paul's Methodist Church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. An always cheerful and welcoming soul she made many friends during her life. After her first husband's death in 1983 she married James Norman Plummer in 1987. They enjoyed retirement together gardening, playing golf and travelling.
