Obituary of Richard Pletcher

Richard Millard Pletcher, 85, of State College, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, at The Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, State College. Born September 14, 1928, in Howard, he was the son of the late Cecil M. and Anna J. Gunsallus Pletcher. On July 11, 1952, he married Virginia Ann Burgess, who preceded him in death on September 15, 2009. He was a 1946 graduate of Howard High School. Richard served in the United States Army during World War II in the 19th Infantry Band. Richard retired from O. W. Houts as a sales clerk. Prior to that he was employed at the Lock Haven Paper Mill. He was a member of Citizen's Hose Company #5, in Lock Haven, I.O.O.F. of State College, Free and Acceptable Masons #268, La Fayette Chapter # 163, Constons Commandery # 199, Nittany Council #57 R. & S. M., Jaffa Temple, Altoona, Williamsport Consistory, Little German Band, Jaffa Temple Band, Imperial Teligrie Band of Williamsport and the Windjammer's Unlimited Circus Band. Visitation will be 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Reverend Harry Brotzman officiating. Burial will be private, in Hublersburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Schlow Library, 211 South Allen Street, State College, PA 16801. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
