Obituary of Iouri Kharitonov

Iouri Kharitonov, 74, a resident of State College died on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his residence. Born March 10, 1939, in the Ukraine, he was the son of the late Semon and Sofia Filger Kharitonov. On May 23, 1963, he married the former Rita Kurt who survives in State College. He was a very loving man who did everything he could for his daughter, Vicka Pevzner, and two grandchildren, Arkasha and Paulina Pevzner. Iouri had worked as the head of a chemical research laboratory in Moscow. He retired in 1995 and moved to State College soon after to help Vicka with her children. Friends will be received at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rabbi David Ostrich officiating.
