Obituary of Sara "Sally" Mothersbaugh

Sara "Sally" Jane Mothersbaugh, 72, of Linden Hall, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born March 12, 1941, in Pine Grove Mills, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Eva Jane Marshall Fry. On May 14, 1960, she married the love of her life, Daniel Lewis "Lew" Mothersbaugh, who survives. In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is also survived by two children, Karen Woomer and her husband, Mark, of Tyrone and Don Mothersbaugh and his wife, Karen, of Bellefonte; four grandchildren, Melissa Fink, Rebecca Meyer, Karah and Zackery Mothersbaugh; two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Kaleb Fink; two sisters, Rosie McClintic and her husband, Don, of Boalsburg and Mary Seitz of State College; one brother, Johnny Fry and his wife, Annie, of Bellefonte; one brother-in-law, Glenn "Butch" Dry of Boalsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Dry of Boalsburg. Sally was a 1959 graduate of State College High School. She attended the Boalsburg St. Johns United Church of Christ and the State College Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Sally was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joys in life included her family, cooking, crafting, yard sales, spending winter months with friends in Florida and helping others. She was truly a selfless individual who always put others first and never asked for anything in return. Visitation will be 2 until 5 p.m., on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, January 20, 2014, at the State College Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Rd, State College, with the Reverend Aaron Henning officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johns United Church of Christ, 218 N. Church St, Boalsburg, PA 16827 or to the State College Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Rd, State College, PA 16801.
