Obituary of Reba Wareham

Reba Beatrice Stombaugh Helsel Wareham 95 of State College passed away January 17, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. Reba was born December 3, 1918 in Portage PA. She was the daughter of the late Blair Stombaugh and Julia Helsel Stombaugh Castel. She attended elementary and high school in Portage and worked in Portage initially as a Hair Stylist until she moved to State College. Reba was married to Elmer "Skip" Wareham a professor at PSU who preceded her in death in 1984. Reba was employed until retirement at Saint Paul's Methodist Church, the Wesley Foundation and Kissinger, Leonard and Brower Real Estate. She is survived by sons Kenneth E. "Skip" Wareham and Thomas C. Wareham both of State College and half-brother Robert Castel of Ohio. Reba is also survived by seven grand-children and many great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Carol Anne Wareham Molloy, her half-brothers Clarence Castel, John Castel, Half-sisters Leona Castel and Mildred Castel. An always cheerful voice and listening ear, she was a friend to all, and touched the lives of everyone she met. Reba recently celebrated her 95 birthday at the Hearthside with music from her sons, Tommy and Skip Wareham. Friends will be received at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801 on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Edwin Zeiders and Eric Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
