Obituary of Bonnie Metzger

Bonnie Lee Mahler Metzger, 65, of Julian, formerly of Dallas, PA, lost her long battle with cancer on January 29, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, surrounded by her family. Born October 14, 1948, in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Dora Kester Mahler. On February 18, 1967, she married Daniel Donald Metzger, Jr., who survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Squier of Julian; two grandsons, James Paul and Daniel Charles both of Julian; one brother, Roger Bellas, Sr. and his wife, Joyce, of Dallas; two nieces, Susan Brobst and her husband, Donald, of Dallas and Heather Myers of Tunkhannock; one great-niece, Tesia of Tunkhannock; two nephews, Glenn Hoyt, Jr. of Tunkhannock and Roger Bellas, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Drums; three great-nephews, Justin Brobst, Joshua Brobst and Garrett Bellas; one sister-in-law, Barbara Hoyt and her husband, Glenn, of Tunkhannock; three cousins, Cheryl (Kester) Schechterly and her husband, Bob, of Bloomsburg, Wayne Kester and his wife, Robbie, of Dallas and Bobby Kester and his wife, Irene, of Florida. Visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m., on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 South Sparks Street, State College, PA 16801 or to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
