Obituary of William Mulberger

Bill Mulberger, 83, of State College died Satuday March 1. Born August 7, 1930 in Bellefonte, PA he was the son of Gertrude (Quick) and William G Mulberger Sr, and the brother of Jean Iovine, and beloved niece Lisa Thornton, who all preceded him. He married Doris Burton on July 9, 1955. He is also survived by 3 children, William Glenn Mulberger III and his wife Kathy, Dawn Mulberger, and David Mulberger and his wife Cindy. He has 3 grandchildren, Jessica Phillips and her husband Mark, Bill Mullberger, Josh Mulberger and his fiancé Brooke Baker, and a great grandchild Lucas Phillips. In addition, sister in law Marge Nelbach, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill Graduated from State College High School in 1948, and then served in the Air Force during the Koren War before obtaining an associates degree at Penn State University. He was employed at Penn State University for 36 years and retired as Housing Supervisor. Bill lived his life with a strong work ethic, integrity, and giving of his time and support. He was a member of Mount Nittany United Methodist Church. He was also a very active life time member of the American Legion Post 245 where he served as board member/vice president. In addition, he was a life time member of the Elks and VFW, and a member of the Bellefonte Moose #206 and Masons Lodge. Bill enjoyed attending as many Penn State sporting events as possible, sometimes going from one sport to another in the same day. He spent most of his retired years spending time with his good friends, golfing, and in pool league. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and could be counted on to fix anything. Most of all Bill loved spending time at his cottage in Waterville, PA. All his life he loved his dogs Fluffy, Daffy, Rascal, and Rusty. A memorial service will be at Mount Nittany Methodist Church on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 11 am, following will be a buffet at the church where together we will celebrate his life and share memories. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mount Nittany United Methodist Church at 1500 Branch Road, State College, PA 16801, and Clinton County SPCA at 33 Mill Hill Rd, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
