Obituary of Karen Neff

Karen Marie Neff, 55 of State College, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her residence surrounded by family and friends. Born August 17, 1958, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L and Dorothy (Gibbons) Neff. She is survived by one sister, Glenda Bartley (Mark) of Milroy, and 3 brothers Merle (Cheryl) Neff of State College, Marlin Neff of Boalsburg, and Tom Neff and companion Tina Jackson of Julian. Karen was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Joseph F. Neff and one sister, Susan Lykens. She was a 1976 graduate of State College Area High School where she made many lifelong friends. Karen was employed as a Corporate Assets Coordinator at HRI Inc., where she worked for 35 yrs. Fellow employees were cherished as a 2nd family to her. She was an avid reader of Stephen King novels and a huge sports fan. She enjoyed gardening and dearly loved animals. She was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church in State College. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m., on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home, State College. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery, State College where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved mother and father. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Come First in Centre Hall, PA or to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
