Obituary of Margaret Friedman

Margaret J. Friedman, 92, of State College, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Greenhills Village, State College. Born September 5, 1921, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of the late Lesher and Beatrice Kessling Heshley. On July 5, 1941 she married David L. Friedman who preceded her in death on September 8, 2012. She is survived by one daughter, LaVonne Dungan and her husband, Daniel, of Belleville, a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Friedman, of W. Palm Beach, FL, a sister, Patricia Volkar, of Hingham, MA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ellis L. Friedman and a brother, Lesher Heshley. Margaret was a graduate of Snow Shoe High School where she was the Valedictorian of her class. She had been employed as an administrator with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. She was a member of the Congregation Brit Shalom. A funeral service was held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
