Obituary of Kurt Natter

Kurt William Natter, 48, of Winmalee, Australia, formerly of Harrisburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 5, 2014, of natural causes while visiting his family in State College. Kurt recently returned to the United States where he enjoyed three wonderful weeks with his family until God took him home. Born February 22, 1966, in Norristown, PA, he was the son of Lu and Susan Brady Natter, who reside in State College. Kurt grew up in a Christian family, surrounded by love and encouragement. He graduated from Mifflinburg Area High School, Class of 1984, and went on to attend Penn. State University, main campus. He married Elaine Fernandez, of Australia, in Harrisburg, PA. They resided there until ten years ago when they moved to the Blue Mountains near Sydney, Australia. Kurt is survived by his wife, Elaine Natter of Winmalee, Australia; son, Ehren G. Natter of Winmalee, Australia; daughter, Kiera A Natter of Winmalee, Australia; sister, Kim M. Barkley and husband, Daniel of Fort Mill, SC; brother, Kyle B. Natter of Lewisburg; uncle, Martin R. Natter of Fort Myers, FL; uncle and aunt, James W. and Elizabeth Brady of Harrisburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eric and Honorine Fernandez of Sydney, Australia; brother-in-law, Ryan Fernandez and wife, Poi of Canberra, Australia; sister-in-law, Hilton Fernandez and wife, Jo of Perth, Australia; ten nieces and nephews from both the United States and Australia; cousins, Karen Weiss, Karl Natter, James Brady, David Brady, Scott Brady, and Sandy Evans. Kurt is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William J. and Dorthea A. Brady and paternal grandparents, George C. and Thelma K. Natter. Kurt worked in the automobile industry as a finance manager in both Pennsylvania and Australia. He was a member of F&AM Lodge No. 266, York, PA. Kurt will be missed by everyone who loved him and all those he met along his path because of his quick wit and genuine care for others. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Oakwood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Daniel Keihl officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Arboretum at Penn State, for the Children's Garden, in memory of Kurt W. Natter, 336 Forest Resources Building, University Park PA 16802. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
