Obituary of Dorothy Huck

Dorothy "Dottie" B. Huck, 91, of State College, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home in The Village at Penn State. Born January 15, 1923 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Gotthard and Nellie Britz Foehr. She married her soul mate, John Lloyd Huck, on November 20, 1943, in Tuscon, AR. who preceded her in death on December 4, 2012. She is survived by three children, Lloyd Huck and his wife, Carol, of Doylestown, Jeanne Leslie- Hughes, of Doylestown, and Virginia "Ginger" Stalcup and her husband, Steve, of Mulberry, IN; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and a grandson. Dottie was a graduate of Penn State University, where she earned a degree in Home Economics in 1943. She loved to garden, play Bridge, knit, sew, and volunteer. Dottie and Lloyd enjoyed entertaining their friends. She carefully selected her menus and prepared the entire meal. The couple enjoyed traveling and learning about the customs and religions of people around the world. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 2-4 pm at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Burial will be private at Whitemarsh cemetery, in Ambler, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the School of Human Development, Penn State University, 201 Old Main, University Park, PA 16802.
