Obituary of Betty Montgomery

Betty S. Montgomery, 99, of State College, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Greenhills Village. Born September 25, 1914 in Tyrone, she was the daughter of Clyde G. Scruders and Mabel Ardell Woomer. She married Ralph E. Montgomery, on August 11, 1993, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, William "Bill" Hall, of Minocqua, WI, and one grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, James A. Hall, in 1986, and John Mitchell, in 2010. Betty was a graduate of Tyrone High School. She retired as a secretary at Penn State in 1974. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am Wednesday, August 20, 2014 Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home with Monsignor Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Graysville cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a local hospice of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
