Obituary of Josephine Lykens

Josephine "Joie" Lykens, 58, of State College, died September 9, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born August 7, 1956 in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Eileen E. Briem Sirianni. She married Harry H. Lykens, on February 14, 1976, who survives at home. She is survived by four children, Harry D. Lykens and his wife, Sarah, of Boca Roton,, Nicole E. McDowell and her husband, Jeffrey, of Red Lion, Michael F. Lykens, of State College, Emily M. Lykens, of State College, two brothers, Frank A. Sirianni and his wife, Sherry, of Harrisburg area , Mark Sirianni, of Land O Lakes, FL, three sisters, Ann Leggett and her husband, Craig, of Bristow, VA, Helen Snyder and her husband, Ron, of State College, Eileen Sirianni of Zephyrhills, FL and five grandchildren, Tyee, Connor, Owen, Aidan and Elle. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gurskey. Joie was a 1974 graduate of State College Area High School. She attended Penn State University. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College. She was also a member of many organizations including Association of Marian Helpers, Anchonfraternity of Christian Mothers, Our Lady's Rosary Makers,America needs Fatima, Marian Movement of priests, and the Covenant house. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College with Father Dadey officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
