Obituary of Charlotte Voight

Charlotte Ann Voight, 78, of State College, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born April 30, 1936 in Duryea, she was the daughter of Charles Mustinski and Stella Swantkowski. She married Delbert Gallett Voight, on February 17, 1962, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1999. She is survived by four children; Suzanne Demeester and her husband, Ron, of Elizabethtown, Melissa Davis and her husband, Sean, of Rockville, MD, Walter Voight of Annapolis, MD, and Delbert G. Voight, Jr and his wife, Lori, of Fredericksburg, and thirteen grandchildren; Sean, Brandon, Meaghan, Voight, and Julia Demeester, Monica, Trevor, Owen, and Kaylee Davis, Jack, Hunter, Elizabeth, and James Voight. Charlotte is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn Bannon of Scottsdale, AZ, and Elaine Lykens and her husband, David, of State College. Charlotte was a graduate of Penn State University where she received her Bachelors in Education in 1957. She worked as a school teacher in New Jersey at McKeown Elementary School for 28 years, after which, she retired to State College in 1996. She loved State College and everything Penn State. Her favorite activities included the Penn State Student Teacher Network, the Penn State Ice Lions Hockey Club, Men's Gymnastic Booster Club, Wrestling Club, Baseball Booster Club, Quarterback Club, Penn State Alumni Association, and being an Alumni Association Recruiter for New Jersey. Second only to her first love, Del, Charlotte loved to attend her grandchildren's sporting events, talent shows and other special events. She was so proud of her children, too, letting anyone who would listen know. She fought her illnesses valiantly, only succumbing to them out of extreme exhaustion. If Charlotte were alive today, she would tell you all to love each other with all your hearts and never pass up the opportunity to help. We will miss you dearly mom. Somebody wake up dad and tell him mom's home. Visitation will be 12 until 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend Brent Book officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 4742 N. 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016-4862 or to the Four Diamonds Fund, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
