Obituary of George Kaleita

George J. Kaleita, 89, of The Oaks at Pleasant Gap, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born April 15, 1925 in Hicksville, Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Swierupski Kaleita. He married Rose Ann, his high school sweetheart, in Hicksville, NY on August 19, 1945, who survives at home. He is survived by five children, Brian Kaleita and his wife, Margo, of State College, Bruce G. Kaleita and his wife, Lynn, of West Palm Beach, FL, Gary M. Kaleita and his wife, Cynthia, of Orlando, FL, Robert J. Kaleita, of Old Town, FL, Douglas F. Kaleita, of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Helen Schwarting, of Pine Bush, NY, two brothers, Lawrence Kaleita, of Islip, NY, Richard Kaleita and his wife, Karen, of Orlando, FL, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. George was a graduate of Hicksville High School and attended Hofstra University. He was employed as a construction executive in New York and operated several businesses in Pennsylvania and Florida during his lifetime. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College with Father Neil Dadey officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to donor's favorite charity. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
